Scoring a hand

  1. Confirm an allowed winning shape.
  2. Find every compatible pattern.
  3. Remove patterns excluded by a higher pattern.
  4. Add the remaining fan; a legal win needs at least 8.

Self-draw, last tiles, replacement tiles, robbed kongs, waits, seat wind, and round wind can change the total. Flower points are added after qualifying and do not count toward the 8-fan minimum.
